Golf on Cape Cod for the Beginner to Intermediate player

Im just starting since last summer to get into the game of Golf. Cape Cod has over 50 golf courses, both 9 and 18 hole courses with a variety of distances for holes, with sand bunkers, trees, greens and fairways, practice putting greens and driving ranges. golfer

Ive been sorting out my clubs, taking ones I dont use out of my golf bag, cleaning up the ones I do use and regripped a Iron after finding a local golf shop. I just bought a driver after figuring out that I needed to have one for the longer holes. I had been using my 3 wood to get me out into the fairways but of course a Driver will get me out even further. I find that most people only use a couple of different clubs- a driver, a 3 wood, putter of course, a sand wedge and a 9 iron being the most common depending upon your expertise and skill level.

golf courseGolf is great for concentration, positive focus and taking your mind off of everything else (including real estate). Great for real estate networking as well! If you have any Golf tips/ stories / comments for me please let me know.

Stephen... I'm glad you enjoy playing golf.. that is one sport I find very frustrating.  Why would anyone want to hit a ball far away only to walk to it and hit it once again..even further away.

Hi Stephen - I have not taken up golf yet. I know I probably will at some point as a lot of mine friends play. They say it is great for business. I am not so sure my clients would like to see me in the woods swearing my %$# off:)

Yes Bill but you never know your clients may like to see another side of you instead of always being the consumate real estate professional that we all know you are?! :)

I commented on your post about header tags here on AR. I inserted header tags on this post to improve my SEO! thanks Bill

Good Luck! Golf is a great game. You should take some basic lessons and learn right, the first time. I am a Golf Professional, and it's alot harder to teach someone that has already learned too many bad habits!!
It's alot like Real Esate....learn the right way to do things, put your systems in place, and it makes the job alot easier!

Stephen,  Golf is a great game and there is no better place to play than the Cape.  Give me a call I'd love to chase the white ball some afternoon with you!  But don't expect any pointers as I'm not very good.

Stephen,

I have been fortunate to play most courses in the mid cape area and some on the upper cape.

I like how you colorcoded your text. Golf is a wonderful way to meet clients and potential customers. It's also a great way to build friendships and a great way to bridge the 2; friends and clients together as they help co-opt several deals. Everard plays a lot of golf and even takes his clients out for no charge if they request. (it's not normally cheap to play at Bent creek).

I saw golfers out on the golf course down the street from where I live yesterday enjoying temps of 45 degrees. Signs of an early spring? I heard from the weatherman we might see 60's this weekend?

We like to combine business and golf since we live on a golf course and sell golf/waterfront homes and lots!  It's the best of both worlds - to have clients visiting who want to play our courses while they are here to look for a home or lot.  Golf in South Carolina is great, too, and we can golf all year!
